Jindal Steel & Power observes World Environment Day 2022 – Odisha Journal


Angul: Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) celebrated World Environment Day 2022 by organizing a host of programs for its employees, students and outlying villagers.

In an effort to raise awareness of environmental protection, early morning “A Run for the Environment” was launched by Mr. Sabyasachi Bandopadhayay, Executive Director – Operation and Mr. Damodar Mittal, Executive Director – Commodities and ironmaking, where hundreds of employees along with their family members and representatives from outlying villages participated and planted more than 500 saplings inside the JSP campus.

On this occasion, Mr. Sabyasachi Bandyapadhyay highlighted the need for proper segregation of household waste at the household level to enable recycling units to recycle it more efficiently for productive reuse.

Mr. Damodar Mittal also advised everyone to do their best to maintain green cover around their neighborhood and therefore insisted on planting more and more trees, especially the fruiting varieties.

On this occasion, a one-off quiz on the Environment was also organized on the plantation site and prizes were distributed on merit.

The CSR department of JSP organized painting competitions and other contests among the school students and among the students of DAV Savitri Jindal High School to raise awareness about sustainability and the environment on the eve of the World Environmental Day. the environment.

In addition to this, JSP in association with JSPL Foundation has also organized painting competitions for children in outlying villages like Badkerjang, Sankerjang, Jarada, Mahitala and other nearby villages as well as in JSP township where hundreds of children participated and translated their colorful and creative painting. ideas on the theme “One Earth” and expressed their concern for the preservation of the environment through their beautiful paintings.

Similarly, JSP also held an online quiz contest among all its employees and essay and quiz contests among the ladies. The winners of the competitions were rewarded with attractive prizes.

The program ended with a vote of thanks from Mr. Alok Sahu, Head of Environment Department, JSP Angul for his support for environmental protection from all, especially senior management, CEO Mr. DK Saraogi and Head of ED and Factory Mr. Hrideyswar Jha.
